After its success in England, the show was re-done in America. Based in Pittsburgh it was shot and follows the lives of Gay men and woman living in the city as they go through the triumphs and tribulations of being gay in the new millennium. It focuses on the drama surrounding their live.

Originally Queer as folk was meant to portray an honest depiction of Gay life,which it didn't.
